Neighbourhood Planning Meeting on 20th January 2018
On Saturday 20th January, 32 villagers responded to the invitation to meet to discuss the benefits and challenges of writing a Newton Neighbourhood Plan. A plan designed to help to shape the future of our village, particularly the types and position of new housing and new amenities.
Presentations were made by Councillors Presland and Parker and other Councillors facilitated group discussions with parishioners. A range of views were recorded that will be published on the new Newton Neighbourhood Plan webpage on http://newton.onesuffolk.net/home/neighbourhood-plan/
At the end of the meeting, 15 parishioners volunteered to join the core working group who will have the responsibility of writing the plan. It is anticipated that it will take at least two years to produce because of the complexity of the document. During that time, villagers will be kept abreast of how the plan is developing and they will be offered chances to comment on its content as each section is written.
